Dr. Jagdish Mitter Sood

Dr. Jagdish Mitter Sood passed away in Weyburn, SK on December 31, 2022 at the age of 89 years. 

He is survived by his daughter Sunita Sood (Dave Walker) and granddaughter Aislinn Walker; daughter Neena Sood (Charles Scholl) and grandchildren, Eamonn and Fiona Scholl; his daughter Aruna Sood (Trevor Keating) and granddaughters, Eileen and Bridget Keating; three surviving siblings in India; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dr. Sood was born in Ludhiana, India on July21,1933.  He completed medical school in India and worked as a medical resident in New Delhi from 1958 to 1960. Dr. Sood left India to work as a doctor in Scotland and Ireland throughout the early 1960s.  In 1967, Dr. Sood and his young family emigrated to Canada where he served Weyburn and the surrounding community as a physician and surgeon for over forty years.

At Dr. Sood’s request, no funeral service will be held.

The Sood family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Tatagwa View who cared for him in his final years. We are also especially grateful to Faye Sanders and Tammie Giroux for their friendship and unwavering support.
