Edith Emma Jean Stratulat

Edith Emma Jean Stratulat passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the William Booth Special Care Home, Regina, SK at the age of 90 years.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, George and Wilhelmina Caldwell, her husband Phillip Stratulat; sister Inez (Lyle) Guest; and brothers: Ken Caldwell, Lance Caldwell, Lloyd Caldwell and Allan Caldwell.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Debbie (Kosabek); her son Kim Stratulat & wife Marie (Thebaud); grandsons Curtis Stratulat & wife Holly (Knight), Corey Stratulat and Kirk Stratulat; sisters-in-law: Rosalind Caldwell, Irene Caldwell, Karen Caldwell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was born on a farm at Radville, SK with her father George, mother Wilhelmina, and siblings; Inez, Ken, Lance, Lloyd and Allan. She married the love of her life, Phillip, in 1955, and made a home for the family on a farm near Radville. Jean was a full-time homemaker, caring not only for her own family, but her parents as well, until their passing some years later. She was an excellent cook and baker, a wonderful hostess providing coffee, meals and dainties to anyone who dropped by for a visit, or for customers of  Phillip’s garage on the farm – everyone was always welcome. Jean enjoyed the country lifestyle, taking special pride in her yard and gardening. She loved animals, enjoyed spending time watching sports (especially her Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays), knitting and crocheting, bowling, dancing, playing cards, visiting with the neighbors, and above all spending time with her family.

A Funeral Service was held Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from Radville United Church, Radville, SK with funeral celebrant Judy Beck.  Pallbearers were: Curtis Stratulat, Corey Stratulat, Kirk Stratulat, Dustin Caldwell, Matthew Chicoine and Dan Schindel. Luncheon was held at the Radville United Church. Interment  followed at Laurier Cemetery, Radville, SK.
