Frank Loos Obituary

Frank Norman Loos, late of Weyburn, SK passed away August 30, 2023 at the age of 93 years. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Magdalena Loos; his son Terry James Loos; great grandson Noah Loos; sister Marian; and brother Don.

Frank is survived by his wife Rose; son Brian (Margaret) Loos and their children: Sarah (Ged) Hogan [2 children], Christine (Brian) Loden [4 children], Justin (Janet) Loos [3 children]; son Richard (Marianne) Loos and their children: Tyler (Karli) Loos [3 children], Tyson Loos (Geri-Rae Callan) [5 children], Katelyn Loos [1 child], Jared Loos [2 children]; daughter Cheryl Loos and children: Shane (Amy) Ridgway [3 children], Jacquelynn (Dustin) Schmidt [2 children]; son Jeffery (Cathie) Loos and their children: Chad Loos (Candace Shaw) [3 children], Cody (Laura) Loos [3 children], Britney Loos [3 children], Virginia (Sylvain) Dubois [2 children], Bradey Loos (Rheagan Nicholson) [2 children] Jackson Adeney; daughter MaryAnn Loos (Larry Sonnenberg) and her son Andrew Loos [2 children].

Frank was born on June 9, 1930 in Grassdale, SK. In his younger years, Frank enjoyed playing the violin and would often attend barn dances with Rose under wing. Frank had a passion for working anything with his hands; from his career as a tinsmith to creating leather works to turning out wooden toys for his many grandkids from within his workshop. He loved photography. He was not readily found in family photos as he was always behind the camera. He loved to capture birds, animals and outdoor scenes. Frank was an avid country music fan and would always love a friendly game of cribbage or canasta.

Prayers were held on Monday, September 4, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK. A Mass of Christian Burial for Frank was  held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK with Fr. Valentine Amobi,  celebrant.  Interment was held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK. Luncheon followed at McKenna Hall, 317 ~ 3rd Street, Weyburn, SK. Pallbearers were Frank’s grandsons: Shane Ridgway, Justin Loos, Chad Loos, Tyler Loos, Tyson Loos and Bradey Loos. The Honour Guard was the Knights of Columbus ~ Council #1731, Weyburn, SK. 

For family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Frank may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, #301 ~ 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1 or the Activities Department, c/o Weyburn Special Care Home, 704 ~ 5th Street NE, Weyburn, SK, S4H 1A3.
