Hilarion James Pohl

Hilarion James Pohl, late of Regina, SK (formerly of Weyburn, SK), passed away May 10, 2023 at the age of 83 years.

He was predeceased by his wife Judy (nee Kaip); his parents Max and Regena (Warnecke); his brothers, Ervin and Harold; sisters: MaryAnn (Josip) Bajic, Dorothy (Ed) Tremmel, Margaret (Henri) Latour, Phyllis (Phillip) Rumancik and Helen (Gil) Wallewein; Judy’s sisters, Alice (Gerry) Wenman and Lorraine Hoppe; and Beth’s sister Gene (Bill) Till.

Hilarion is survived by his sons: James (Cindi) and their daughter Zoë, Prince George, BC; Scott (Tanya) and their daughters Savannah (Dallin Chicoine) and Abby, Weyburn, SK; Gerry (Michelle Rule), Meadow Lake, SK; his wife Beth Weger and her children: Connie (Dennis) Vance, Ken (Traci) Weger, Louise (Dave) Rhinelander, Maureen (Cory) Harrison, Carl (Melissa) Weger;as well as their children and grandchildren: Sarah (Andrew) Schmidt and their sons Noah and Maverick, Paige Vance (Matthew Found), Alicia Weger, Ethan Weger, Ryker Harrison, Logan Harrison, Boston Weger and Bridget Weger; his brother Vernon (Fay Johnson).  Also mourning his passing are his in-laws: Walter Hoppe, Wendy (William) Bell, Susan Graham and Bill Graham, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.

Hilarion was born April 8, 1940 on his parent’s farm southwest of Weyburn, SK. He and Judy purchased a farm in the Cedoux area where he farmed until selling to Scott and Tanya.  Hilarion faithfully attended mass and will be remembered as a kind, quiet man who gave generously to his family, his community and his church.  He will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK with celebrants Deacon William Bell and Fr. Valentine Amobi.  Urn Bearers were: Savannah Pohl, Abigail Pohl and Zoë Pohl.

 Interment was held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, SK. Luncheon followed at McKenna Hall, 317 ~ 3rd Street, Weyburn, SK.
