Ilene Thauberger

Ilene Thauberger (nee: Klein) passed away May 17, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Hulda and August Kruger; first husband Ronald Klein; second husband Peter Thauberger; brother-in-law Sidney Postma; sister-in-law Marilyn Kruger; and grandson-in-law Adam Beatty. 

Ilene is survived by her daughter Sharon (Kevin) Teske; son Daniel Klein (Valerie King); six grandchildren: Ashley (Quinn) Rollins, Sherry Beatty-Henfrey (Laine), Kelvin Teske,Katlin (Alexandra) Teske, Austin Klein and Katelyn Klein; great grandchildren: Knox, Annalee, Kabela, Liam, Sophia, Laithan, Isabella and Leander; sisters: Madelene (Gus) Bachart, Marguerite (Richard) Bachart, Denice Postma; brother Don Kruger; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

A Private Family Service was held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, SK with funeral celebrant Judy Beck.  Interment followed at Lang Cemetery, Lang, SK.  Active Pallbearers were: Kelvin Teske, Katlin Teske, Quinn Rollins, Dan Klein and Kevin Teske.

Ilene was born on March 23, 1933 in Lang, SK.  The eldest sibling of two sets of twins.  She left home at 16 to work in Regina as a waitress and a nurse’s aide.  In 1952 she married Ronald Klein. They lived and worked in Regina but enjoyed many happy times at the cottage Ron built at Katepwa Lake.  A decade later they were blessed to welcome Sharon and four years later Daniel completed their family.  Sadly, Ron passed a little over a year later.

Ilene met and married Peter Thauberger in 1971, they continued living in Regina and later moved to Lang, SK.  After Peter passed, she then moved to Weyburn, SK.  She enjoyed painting, gardening, flowers, baking, cooking and socializing with friends but family was everything to Mom.

We would like to thank the nursing staff at Tatagwa View for the care and support they provided Mom in the last years of her life.
