It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jospeh (Tony) Frischholz at the age of 87 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Tony passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Frischholz; his father and mother-in-law, Leon and Catherine Uytterhagen; one sister Marion Reiman; five brothers-in-law: Gerald Schaefer, Oran Reiman, Jake Uytterhagen, Odaf Uytterhagen, and Harold Uytterhagen; one nephew Ricky Uytterhagen.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Theresa Frischholz, Weyburn, SK, their three sons: Dean Frischholz, Weyburn, SK, Ron Frischholz, Minton, SK, Perry (Michelle) Frischholz, Zehner, SK; one daughter Melinda Frischholz (Duane), Pilot Butte, SK; six grandchildren: Travis Oberkirsch, Joey (Stacy) Frischholz and their children Mehsen and Hyden, Shane (Carli) Frischholz and their son Logan, Linda Ring (Mark) and their children: Katie, Jessica, Cole, Emily, Jack (Amanda) Ring and their children Kira and Kelsey, Jennifer Desjarlais and her children Nathan and Mathew; great-great granddaughter Prudence; two sisters, Margaret Schaefer, Regina, SK, and RoseMarie Frischholz, Regina, SK; two brothers Conrad (Donna) Frischholz, Regina, SK and Leo (Pauline) Frischholz, Regina, SK; three sisters-in-law: May Uytterhagen, Marion Uytterhagen, Marian Uytterhagen; one brother-in-law Leon (Ethel) Uytterhagen; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Tony was born on April 30, 1933 at his parent's farm south west of Minton, SK. In 1956 he married the love of his life Theresa Uytterhagen and together they raised 4 children, 3 sons, Dean, Ron, Perry and 1 daughter Melinda.
After retiring from the farm Tony and Theresa moved to Minton, SK and later to Weyburn, SK. Wherever he lived or visited, Tony always had a passion for the land, nature, farming and collecting unique rocks, artifacts and fossils that he found on his long walks.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of House #9 at Tatagwa View Care Home for the wonderful care they provided Tony during his final days.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 13, 2020 at1:00 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK with Fr. Francis Plaparampil celebrant. Interment was held at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Minton, SK.
