Lea VandeSype Obituary

Lea Bertha Marie (Deschambault) VanDeSype was born in Radville SK on November 11, 1937. Lea married Earl VanDeSype on July 4, 1956. They had six children; daughter Karen (Dan) McLellan and children Jennifer Schad and Jamie Schad; son Glenn (Shantelle)VanDeSype and children Jill (Davin) Emmel, Cara (Nathan) Morhart, Ashley VanDeSype, Dylan VanDeSype, and Cole VanDeSype; son Randy VanDeSype; daughter Gaylene (Doug) Kaip and children Chandy Kaip, Renae Kaip, and Rylan (Jen) Kaip; son Brent (Michelle) VanDeSype and children Lucas VanDeSype, Sarah (Kiefer) Simpson, and Kylie VanDeSype; daughter Caroline (Russ) Chartrand and children Zachary (Jacquie) Chartrand, Dustin (Aleida) Chartrand, Jaxon (Renae) Chartrand, and Jorde Chartrand. Lea and Earl parted ways after 28 years of marriage. A few years later, Lea met her new life partner, Donald McLeod, and they spent their remaining years together.                                                                                              Lea was predeceased by ex-husband Earl VanDeSype, daughter Karen McLellan, son Randy VanDeSype, son-in-law Dan McLellan, spouse Donnie McLeod, as well as brothers Emile and Gilbert (Carol) Deschambault; and brothers-in-law Duke (Doris) Pearson, Dennis (Alice) Cherpin, and Lyle (Reina) Hammer.                                      Lea leaves to mourn her four remaining children, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, and many other family members including the extended family of Donnie McLeod.  Lea also shared a very special bond with Travis Schad and Trisha (McLeod) Stein.                                                                                                          A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.                                                                                                              In lieu of flowers, for family and friends so wishing charitable donations in memory of Lea may be made to The Family Place, 24 ~ 4th Street NE, Weyburn, SK, S4H 0X7 or the Weyburn Humane Society, P.O. Box 1062, Weyburn, SK, S4H 2L3.
