Muriel R. Rose, late of Creelman SK passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024 at the age of 92 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill; her parents Cyril and Bernice Anslow; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Shirley Anslow.
Muriel is survived by her sons: Ted (Donna) Thoroughgood, Tom (Lesa) Thoroughgood, her daughter Dawn (Murray) Baker; grandson Michael Thoroughgood; nieces, Nola (Doug) Zingel and Jill (Craig) Watson; Mary and Kelly Keturakis and their family; as well as many extended family.
Muriel loved to knit and many will remember her out and about with her knitting and a diet Pepsi nearby. She was quick to gift visitors to her home with an afghan that she had made, not always perfect but made with love.
Muriel grew up in Lumsden with her parents Cyril and Bernice Anslow and her beloved brother Don Anslow. The family moved to the Creelman/Heward area when she was 17, to a farm and her father eventually had Anslow’s General Store in Creelman. Muriel had a long life and she loved living close to her mother and brother. Some of her happiest days were spent with her husband Bill Rose until his death in 2012.
During their 21 years of marriage they shared many adventures but most of all lots of laughter. She will be greatly missed by her family and extended family but we take comfort knowing she is now at peace.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Creelman United Church, Creelman, SK with Sharon Elliott officiating. Funeral luncheon followed the service at the Creelman Memorial Hall, Creelman, SK. Interment will be held at a later date at the Heward Cemetery, Heward, SK.
For family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Muriel may be made to the Stoughton & District First Responders, P.O. Box 282, Stoughton, SK, S0G 4T0.
