It is with great sadness that the children of Stanley Kenneth Sampson announce his peaceful passing on the morning of April 19, 2024 at the age of 86.
Stan was born in Bromhead, SK in 1937 to Beatrice and Martin Sampson. The family moved to Weyburn where Stan received his education. Stan eventually made his way to Calgary where he received his journeyman’s certificate in carpentry at SAIT. During his time in Alberta, Stan met Bonnie Thompson and they were married in 1966. During their first year of marriage, they moved back to Weyburn and started their family. Bonnie passed away in 1977.
Stan married April in 1980. He took a steam engineering correspondence course while working at the Weyburn Distillery. Stan worked at Souris Valley Extended Care Hospital until he retired.
Stan was a perfectionist and liked to keep busy. He had a variety of hobbies over the years which included carpentry, gardening, stamp collecting, bee keeping and a worm farm. Stan and April’s yard was a source of pride for both of them. Red geraniums were planted every year and became a south hill staple.
Stan was predeceased by Bonnie in 1977, April in 2019 and step-daughter Alicyn in 2022.
He is survived by his children Meshell (Barry) and Colin (Yolanda), step-daughter Salli (Darrin), grandchildren: Aaron Wight (Rubi), Kaity Wight, Brittany Wight, Jenna Krumm and Cole Kraft.
At Stan’s request, no funeral service will be held.
