Walter Arnold Krueger

Walter Arnold Krueger, late of Weyburn, SK, passed away March 16, 2021 at the age of 77 years.

He was predeceased by his parents Wilhelm and Ottilia Krueger; step-mother Adelgunde Krueger; brothers, Rudolph and Alfred; sisters, Mary (Howard) Hockley and Elsie Wilson; and his nephew Curtis Thom.

Walter is survived by his sister Emma Thom; eight nieces and nephews and their families; as well as his many friends.

Walter (Wally) Arnold Krueger was born September 24, 1943 at Weyburn, SK to Wilhelm and Ottilia Krueger.  He passed away on March 16, 2021, which was his father’s birthday.  He was raised with four siblings on his parent’s farm at Trossachs. He went to school at Rocky Bluff for a while but left to help on the farm.  He took over the farm outside of Yellow Grass when his dad moved into town.  Wally continued the operation until his retirement at age 65, though he still had lots of wisdom to share with those who would listen.  He never married. 

Wally was a joker who always saw the lighter side of a situation.  He was known as the Cat with 9 Lives due to his accidents on the farm, including rolling a tractor.  He also enjoyed being the Uncle Monster to a couple of his great nieces and nephews. He did not travel much though he did venture off to visit his family members in Victoria and Grimshaw a couple of times.  He enjoyed family time but hated being away from the farm and community.  Wally was an avid sports fan and could nap in front of any TV that was showing the game.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at Yellow Grass Cemetery, Yellow Grass, SK at a later date.
