I was born and raised in
Weyburn, SK and have lived here most of my life except when I relocated to
Alberta before returning back to Weyburn to raise my family. I worked at the
Zion Lutheran Church for almost ten years before I was employed at RD Family Funeral
Chapel in 2014.
Recently, I just celebrated my ten years at RD Family Funeral Chapel. Over
those years, my own children have grown and my partner, Darcy and I, are now
grandparents to four awesome grandchildren. Outside of work, I spend a lot of
time with my dad, John Whitell, who is presently living at Tatagwa in Weyburn.
I look forward to the future at RD Family Funeral Chapel with our new managing
owner, Tamara Seghers; licensed funeral director, Lindsay Fellinger and our
super fantastic team of part-timers! We are forever grateful for the trust you
place in us and are honored to be here to help on your difficult journey with
grief.

My wife Leeann and I moved to Weyburn in 2003 and moved on to a street where there just happened to be a fellow who owned a Funeral Home. Started working there part time a number of years back.
Leeann and I have 2 children Steven and Jeremy (identical twins)43 years old. Also 5 grand kids aging from 3 to 23 years old.

I’ve been happily married for 45 years and together we had 3 sons and 7 grandchildren.
I retired from the Saskatchewan government after 35 years of
service. I worked another 5 years for various companies and engineering firms
around the southern part of the province doing such things as hot shotting in
the oil patch during the boom years and working on the clean coal project at Boundary
Dam as well as various other projects.
In 2012 our youngest son and his friend were killed in a vehicle
accident at which time I retired again and Kathy and I began camping again as
that was something we always enjoyed when raising our family, we now have a
seasonal site at Nickel Lake.
Almost 3 year ago I got
involved in the funeral industry as I felt I could always lend an ear after
being through the worst and having a daughter-in-law in the business may have
persuaded me as well.
